Skin that feels rough and dry?
Wind, sun and a long week leave skin feeling rough to the touch, and you want something that feels like a treat.
Why rose extract
Rose extract and sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid, go into a soft pink jelly with a gentle rose scent. It sets cool and peels away in one piece, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Like every Omorfia formula, it mixes, sets and peels the same way.
What you'll notice:
- Skin that feels soft and smooth
- A gentle rose scent while you lie back
- A cool, soothing feel as it sets
Ingredients
Patch test first, and stop if you get any irritation. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor first.
Full ingredients and what they do
Full ingredients, as on the jar: Diatomaceous Earth, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Algin, Calcium Sulfate, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Maltodextrin, Rosa Rugosa Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Allantoin, CI 17200, Parfum
Key ingredients
- Diatomaceous earth (mineral powder): gives the powder body and helps it set into a firm layer that peels off in one piece.
- Corn starch (plant starch): gives the mask its body so it spreads in an even, thick layer.
- Sodium alginate (algin) (gel from brown seaweed): turns the powder into a cool jelly that sets and peels off in one piece.
- Calcium sulfate (mineral): works with the alginate to set the jelly.
- Tetrasodium pyrophosphate (setting control): slows the set a little, so you have time to smooth it on.
- Maltodextrin (from starch): helps the powder mix in smoothly.
- Sodium hyaluronate (A form of hyaluronic acid): holds water at the surface for a plumper, hydrated look.
- Allantoin (skin conditioner): soothes and leaves skin feeling soft.
- Rose (rosa rugosa flower and petals): part of the botanical blend, with a soft rose character.
- Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (thickener from plant cellulose): gives a smooth, creamy mix.
- Fragrance (parfum or aroma): gives the jelly its scent.
- Colour (CI 17200 (pink), CI 19140 and CI 42090 (green)): gives the powder its colour.
How to use it
- Cleanse your face and neck.
- Stir 3 level tablespoons of powder into 2 tablespoons of cool water until smooth, like thick yoghurt.
- Smooth it on thickly with the flat end of the spatula straight away, keeping it away from your eyes, eyebrows, lips and hairline.
- Lie back for 15 to 20 minutes while it sets into jelly.
- Peel off in one piece from the jaw upward, then rinse.
Put the used mask in the bin, not down the drain. One to three times a week suits most people. More detail in how to use a jelly mask.
